Proudly Canadian.
Built at home.

Canada should be able to design and build its own unmanned systems. We're a Canadian company doing that work here, one board and one aircraft at a time.

Canadian-owned

CanuckAviation is owned and run in Canada. No foreign parent company.

Designed in Canada

Engineering, PCB layout and firmware are done in-house in Ontario.

Built in Canada

Boards are fabricated and assembled on our own line, and aircraft are integrated in our shop.

Supported from here

When you need help, a Canadian engineer answers, in your time zone.

What we do in-house

We design and build the aircraft electronics ourselves.

CanuckAviation builds unmanned aircraft and the technology around them: flight electronics, sensors and telemetry. The same team takes a design from the first requirements to a flying aircraft.

PCB

Circuit boards, start to finish

Schematic, layout, fabrication and assembly on our own line: photoresist imaging, etching, solder mask and reflow. We can change a board in days without waiting on an overseas fab.

FW

Embedded firmware

ArduPilot integration and tuning, bare-metal and RTOS firmware on nRF52 and ESP32, and BLE and RF bring-up.

RF

RF and telemetry

Antenna feed and matching-network layout, low-power radio design, and GNSS/VHF telemetry for tracking hardware.

SNS

Sensors & payloads

Optical ranging, IMU and GNSS integration, and payload control, from first-principles error budgets to calibration.

INT

Aircraft integration

Airframe, propulsion, power and payload integration on open autopilots. We supply parameter files, logs and documentation, not a locked black box.

GCS

Ground control & data

Mission planning, telemetry and logging, and the ground-side tools that turn flight logs into field records you can use.

Honest about origin

"Made in Canada" means we built it here. Aircraft built from imported frames, motors and autopilots are labelled "Integrated in Canada", and the spec sheet lists the parts.

Open, not locked

Open autopilots, published parameter files and full logs. Your aircraft and your data stay yours. There is no vendor cloud in the loop.

Specs we can defend

Estimates are marked as estimates. Anything we haven't measured yet says so.

Where the name comes from

Named for the Avro Canada CF‑100 Canuck.

The CF-100 was designed and built in Malton, Ontario, and first flew in 1950. It is the only Canadian-designed fighter ever to enter mass production. For three decades the RCAF flew it over the Arctic, in cloud and at night. It showed that Canadians could design and build their own aircraft, and that's the idea we build on.
